Terms of Use
Effective October 25, 2026
The short version
- Use WiFi Meter on networks you're allowed to use, and follow the law.
- Readings are estimates from your phone's hardware, not certified measurements.
- The app is provided as is. We aren't liable for decisions made from its readings.
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Realmbit, LLC ("Realmbit", "we", "us") and apply to the WiFi Meter app for Android and this website. By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. How we handle data is covered by the Privacy Policy.
2. Using the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use WiFi Meter on Android devices you own or control, for personal use or for work such as checking or surveying networks. You may not copy, modify, resell or redistribute the app, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use WiFi Meter to break any law or anyone else's rights. In particular:
- Only connect to, test or survey networks you own or have permission to use. Seeing a network in the app doesn't give you permission to use it.
- Don't use the speed test to overload, disrupt or misuse any network or service. The speed test uses Cloudflare's service, and its use is also subject to Cloudflare's terms.
4. Measurements are estimates
Signal strength, speed, channel recommendations and other readings come from your phone's Wi-Fi hardware and Android, and vary between devices. Android also limits how often apps can scan, so readings may lag behind reality. Results are a helpful guide, not certified measurements. Please don't rely on them for safety-critical, legal or contractual purposes.
5. Data use
A speed test can transfer several hundred megabytes. It runs over Wi-Fi, but if your Wi-Fi is metered or capped, running tests may count against your allowance. You're responsible for any charges from your internet provider.
6. Paid features
If WiFi Meter offers paid features, they are sold through Google Play and governed by Google Play's terms, including its refund policy. A one-time purchase unlocks the features described at the time of purchase on the Google account you used, for as long as the app is offered.
7. Third-party services
Some features rely on services we don't control, such as Cloudflare for the speed test and Google Play for distribution and purchases. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we're not responsible for their availability or content.
8. Changes and availability
We may update, change or stop offering features, or the app itself, at any time. Updates may be required to keep using the app.
9. Ownership
WiFi Meter, its name, design and code belong to Realmbit, LLC. The app includes open-source fonts and other components licensed by their owners. Their licences are included with the app.
10. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or business, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or US $10 if you paid nothing.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
12. Ending these terms
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. If you seriously break these terms, your licence to use the app ends.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled by the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you and Realmbit agree to their jurisdiction. If you live outside the United States, this doesn't take away any protection that the consumer laws of your country give you, including your right to bring claims in your local courts.
